Japanese Basketball

The Japanese National Basketball Competition is the premier basketball league in Japan. It is comprised of 12 teams from across the country, with the majority of them based in Tokyo. The teams are divided into two conferences, the East and the West.

The teams in the East Conference are the Alvark Tokyo, Chiba Jets Funabashi, Levanga Hokkaido, Hitachi SunRockers Shibuya, Niigata Albirex BB, and the Toyama Grouses. Each team plays a total of 54 games in the regular season, with 27 of them being played at their home stadium. The regular season runs from October to April, with the playoffs taking place in May. The playoffs consist of the top four teams from each conference competing for the championship.

The home stadiums of the teams vary in size and capacity, ranging from the 3,000-seat Akita Northern Happinets Arena to the 15,000-seat Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. The Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium is the largest and most well-known stadium in the league, and it is home to the Alvark Tokyo.
